killzone 3

The sequel to killzone 2, continuing on from the story of kz2 playing as alpha team meember sgt. thomas sevechenko (the previous protagonist). this game focuses on the evacuation from the planet helghan after previous events, mixed up in the middle of a power struggle between two senior helghast powers, an industrialist and an admiral trying to regroup forces and evacuate the planet helghan.

new features to the game include the brutal melee system where intead of hitting an enemy twice and they die, if close enough, the second hit will be a special, brutal, move, such as gauging eyes, headbutts and kicks, these are also adapted for stealth, another new element to the game, for when it is requiered the melee kills and enemy in one press not two, the stealth mode brings in another weapon with it that acts as a high powered pistol that is silenced, this is highly effective, especially to the head of the heavily armoured helghast. another small addition is that you can see your legs in this game, it may be small but many games dont have this and is really only being introduced widespread. there are a large amount of new weapons added to the game, a multiple rocket and artillery launcher called the wasp, an electricity cannon and another cannon that shoots some form of green electricity like substance that will cause people to explode when the weapon is charged and fired at them. the game is also one of few to support 3d televisions with its gameplay available in said format on the standard disc.

the interactivity on this game is brought up from the one of killzone 2, with weapons being fired fom dropships added in for one mission and bashing down weak doors with the melee. the previous stuff is still there though, such as turning valves with the sixaxis and controlling vehichles such as walkers from the first game, a new vehichle you get to control is the ice breaker as a mission chasing a large helghast cruiser.  Another new edition is the jetpack with an attached machine gun available in two campaign missions. The use of playstation move is enabled as well which means players can purchase a move gun to make the experience more realistic.

the multiplayer is similar to the first but with an added mode, operations, wich is based slightly like a campaign mission, including cutscene and scripted events, depending on which team achievs their objectives, the cutscenes include players gamer tags over characters heads, and at the end of  around, the highest scoring characters will appear in the cutscene.

The game has recieved overall positive reviews always over 7 by main rating sites such as IGN and GamesRankings.

killzone 2

killzone 2 is one, maybe the best fps' ive ever played, its developed by guerrilla games, a company based in the netherlands, its also a subsidary of sony computer entertainment, which explains why its a ps3 exclusive.

alpha team
the game continues on from the first killzone/killzone liberation (a psp market entry). The isa have taken the fight to the helghast and invaded their home planet of helghan, you are part of an elite team named alpha team, tasked with capturing the helghast leader scholar visari, you fight your way through the ruined city of phyrrus and other locations, unravelling the mysteries of the helghast war machine and a bit of culture as well. The game has a fair amount of interactivity such as driving a tank and operating an AA gun onboard an isa cruiser as well as making use of the ps3 controllers sixaxis capabilities.

I think its such a good game because its a massive step up from the first killzone, i think its got fantastic graphics and effects, the AI is fantastic with all of its various movements and actions it makes on its respective difficulty levels. All of this combine with its great storying and methods of telling it as well as the interactivity.
